Regular, Full-Time PURPOSE Incumbent will provide intake services for new clients, complete data entry requirements from application, create case file if necessary, make initial program eligibility determinations, and forward to the Rescue Funds Program Coordinator or designee for approval.

Caseworkers ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Answer phone calls and emails from applicants and general public Review and determine applicant eligibility Research pending applications to move from pending to eligible or not eligible Request required documentation for financial assistance program application Complete data entry into Tribe Vue from application and/or client interview Responsible for all aspects of paper and electronic file management of applications Responsible for submitting eligibility recommendations for the Rescue Funds Assistance Grants Other duties as assigned DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY Spending Authority:

N/A NECESSARY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Must be computer literate Must be professional and maintain professional and polite composure Maintain Confidentiality Moderate interviewing and investigative skills Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills Ability to defuse tense situations Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Working knowledge of office practices and procedures Working knowledge of Tlingit & Haida programs, applications, and requirements Ability to analyze, interpret, and apply regulations Ability to complete data entry assignments quickly and accurately Ability to type 45 WPM MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills) High School Diploma or equivalent 3 years clerical experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills) Case Management Training (Training certifications required) 1-year experience working in financial assistance program UNUSUAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OR RESTRICTIONS The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting and is generally sedentary, requiring routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying of items weighing less than 40 lbs.
Travel on small aircraft or ferry may be required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
