-Nichole, Courtroom Judicial Assistant Job DutiesThis position serves as a case manager for domestic violence and stalking cases, as well as provide backup support to probate and children's cases.
You will assist self-represented litigants, attorneys, and other agencies at the public service counter and by phone providing information on court cases, forms, procedures, and records without giving legal advice.
This will include assisting customers in extreme distress, incapacitation, or cultural diversity, requiring superior listening and communication skills to elicit information.
In this role, you will review submitted petitions for rule compliance, review and determine appropriate action for incoming case pleadings, recognize and handle documents requiring priority action, process and distribute orders and notices, docket orders, schedule events, update parties, and track files for follow-up on mandatory and ordered events in CourtView.
Additionally, you will manage an individual cash drawer to accept payments for filing fees and other transactions.
This position will cross-train with domestic violence and children's desk duties and provide coverage when needed.

Minimum Qualifications Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of office clerical experience AND the ability to keyboard at least 40 words per minute (net).
Substitution:
Additional office clerical work experience will substitute for the high school diploma or GED certificate on a month-for-month basis.
Completion of 36 semester credit hours or 48 quarter credit hours of coursework from an accredited college will substitute for the year of required office clerical experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
